For four generations, the Laydis family have pursued their passion for wine. Ever since Théophile bought the first hectares on the Butte de Calon hill, in the heart of Montagne Saint-Emilion, and left them to his daughter Simone and her husband Robert, the family has forged an indissoluble bond with the land from which it produces its wine, developing their expertise from generation to generation.

Today, it is Robert and Simone's son Bernard, with his wife Sylvie and their grown-up children Thomas and Marie, who draw their strength and their inspiration from the family estate. Wine-lovers know how sharing a good wine creates a bond based on this special experience. It is precisely this power, deriving from the encounter between a unique terroir and the exceptional characters of those who work it, that is felt in these remarkable wines.

Château Roc de Calon is a perfect example of the symbiosis between men and the wine they make: all of the estate's cuvées seem to reflect the personality of somebody in the family. Every one a different character… and a togetherness rather than a resemblance.
