Notes presse & récompenses
Roc de Calon is a subtle, filigree wine. It reveals notes of morello cherry and blackberry, followed by a touch of thyme and chalky nuances. A similar character on the palate, where the wine seems to be like clockwork: everything is in place and it is precise. The tannins are fine and reach their fullness on the finish, while the acid structure is temperamental. This is an excellent wine with great potential. We just need to give it time to express itself!
A balanced, juicy red with purple fruit and lavender. It’s medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a fresh finish. Precise.
The nose is fruity, with juiciness, fine freshness and a little intensity. Notes of juicy blackcurrant, juicy strawberry and, to a lesser extent, blueberry are combined with hints of blue berries, raspberry and fine hints of liquorice and nutmeg. Fruity, mineral and well-balanced on the palate, this wine is delicious, with a fine acidic/juicy structure and fine tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, strawberry, combined with touches of blue berries and hints of violet, liquorice, chocolate and sweet spices.
INFOS
Presentation
Vinified for 4 generations, from great-grandfather to great-grandson, this wine is the very essence of our estate. Luscious, fruity and powerful, it can be adapted to any occasion. A wine for every table...
The vintage
The 2019 vintage follows in the footsteps of recent great Bordeaux vintages. The winter was surprisingly mild, followed by a rather cool spring. Summer was hot, but the rain came at just the right time on several occasions: in July and August, then a few showers in early September. These rains were a lifesaver, keeping the grapes fresh and energized before harvest.
